He disguised himself as Yhwach, defeated Kenpachi in his eyepatch-removed state, and fought as a distraction for the original Yamamoto until Yhwach's "errand" was completed. However, he was defeated by Yamamoto's Bankai. Immediately after, he received words of praise from Yhwach, who had returned, and vanished with a satisfied smile. He possessed a Blut Vene strong enough to withstand the original Yamamoto's Shikai, "Ryujin Jakka."
