Isuzu is a Human Bard and a Nomad in "Log Horizon." She was saved from the group Hamelin along with her twin and soon became a central member among the younger Adventurers. Energetic but a bit shy, Isuzu is tall and self-conscious about her freckles and slim body. While she finds it hard to talk to boys, she is passionate about music and loves her lute, Flying Dolphin. Forming close bonds with Minori and Rundelhaus Code, she often uses her music to inspire hope in others. Her journey includes overcoming her insecurities and discovering the profound impact her songs have on the world and its people. In the real world, she is a high school student in a rural area and a brass band member, loving all musical instruments but favoring the wood bass.
Isuzu is a tall and slim girl with freckles.
She has a long braid, which is a unique feature for her.
She worries about her height and body shape, feeling a bit insecure about them.
She is cheerful and bright, but also a little reserved.
Isuzu finds it difficult to speak with boys, making her shy in social situations.
She often feels that Minori, being more mature, supports her emotionally even though she is older than Minori.
She wants to be an equal and good friend to Minori.
Isuzu was rescued from Hamelin with her twin.
She is older than Minori, but became dependent on Minori's strong spirit when in trouble.
After the rescue, she joined the Crescent Moon Alliance.
Later, she changed guilds to Log Horizon, following Rundelhaus Code.
In the real world, Isuzu is a high school student from a small town.
She is part of the school brass band and loves playing all kinds of instruments, especially the wood bass.
Her love for Elder Tale began thanks to her Gundam-fan big brother, who gave her a free ticket.
As a Bard, Isuzu mainly uses music and songs to support her friends.
She is unusual for a Bard because she wields a two-handed spear called "Howling Spear."
She says it makes her feel like a rock star, just like smashing a guitar (but with a spear).
Her favorite instrument is her lute, Flying Dolphin.
She uses a special item, Amber Dragon Claw, given by Shiroe, as her pick when playing.
Isuzu is close friends with Minori and wants to support her as much as Minori supports her.
She forms a special bond with Rundelhaus Code, and during training they become a strong team.
They appear like owner and dog, always helping each other, especially in battle.
After leaving Crescent Moon Alliance, she followed Rundelhaus Code to Log Horizon.
Marielle gave her the Flying Dolphin lute as a present, and Isuzu treasures it a lot.
She loves singing and performing on her lute, especially at the restaurant called Bloom Hall, which is run by Adventurers and People of the Land.
On traveling quests with the younger team, she often plays live music in town inns or taverns, calling it a "music tour."
After Rundelhaus Code’s advice, Isuzu worried about singing songs from the real world, fearing it might change the People of the Land.
However, she overcame this fear and her heartfelt singing helped people during the Wyvern attack.
Her lute, Flying Dolphin, was improved by the Rodrick Company, adding a magical "Siren’s Shell" that lets her summon helpers with music.
Saved from Hamelin
Isuzu and her twin were rescued from the evil guild Hamelin.
She was level 24 at the time of the training camp, grew to level 57 after the magic bag quest, and reached level 61 during the fight against Ereinus.
Summer Training and New Friendships
During the summer training in Zantleaf, she grew close to Rundelhaus Code.
Their teamwork in combat was strong, partly thanks to Minori’s direction.
The Bard and the Spear
Instead of a normal instrument, Isuzu chose the two-handed Howling Spear as her weapon.
She wanted to feel like a rock star smashing her instrument on stage.
Lute and Music
She loves her unique lute, Flying Dolphin, originally made by Marielle and later upgraded with help from Rodrick’s team.
The lute became even more special after combining it with the magical Siren’s Shell, giving it the power to summon musical companions.
She uses Amber Dragon Claw, a special gift from Shiroe, as a pick when playing.
Guild Changes and Live Performances
After joining Log Horizon, Isuzu started performing regularly at the restaurant Bloom Hall and with the Seventh Drum Band, a guild of Bards.
She would also perform in towns during her “music tours.”
Power of Song
Rundelhaus Code pointed out that her real-world songs influence the People of the Land deeply, which troubled her.
She finally accepted this responsibility during the attack on Safir Town by the Wyverns.
Her song helped the townsfolk escape and was recognized by the world of Elder Tale itself.
Isuzu’s strong will and love for music help her bring hope to people—both Adventurers and People of the Land.
Her story is one about growth, friendship, and the power of believing in herself and her song.
