Jahi is a demon who serves as a high-ranking aide to the Demon King Ahriman and acts as the strict tutor of Ahriman’s daughter, Dou, in the series “The Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!!”.
Although she appears as a young woman and prides herself on being ruthless, she is constantly troubled by Dou’s overwhelming kindness.
Jahi is one of the elite demons directly under Ahriman, entrusted with important responsibilities in the Demon King’s domain.
Her main mission is to train Dou into a proper, fearsome demon who befits the child of the Demon King.
Despite her cruel and merciless personality, Jahi routinely finds her plans derailed by Dou’s gentle heart.
Because of this, Jahi ends up in a comedic cycle of setting up brutal trials that never quite go as intended.
Jahi is outwardly ruthless, brutal, and proud of her demonic nature.
She believes that a demon should be cold, violent, and feared by others.
In practice, however, she often ends up playing the exasperated caretaker.
Dou’s excessive kindness disarms her carefully prepared lessons in cruelty, leaving Jahi flustered and exhausted.
She is serious about her duties and genuinely wants Dou to grow into a “proper” demon.
At the same time, Jahi is unintentionally soft when dealing with Dou and cannot fully ignore Dou’s affection.
Jahi volunteered to take charge of Dou’s education as a demon.
Under direct orders from Ahriman, she tries to instill “true demonic ruthlessness” into Dou.
She constantly prepares harsh trials and tests designed to toughen Dou and suppress her kindness.
However, each trial ends in failure because Dou helps, forgives, or shows compassion to her supposed victims.
This repeated failure leaves Jahi mentally and emotionally worn out.
Her attempts at cruelty become the source of many humorous situations when confronted with Dou’s pure-hearted responses.
Dou affectionately calls her “Jahi big sister,” treating her like a beloved older cousin rather than a frightening instructor.
Because of this, their relationship feels more like family than that of a strict teacher and student.
Jahi is often pulled along by Dou’s pace, despite trying to maintain a stern, demonic image.
She complains about being driven crazy by Dou’s kindness, yet she never truly abandons her role by Dou’s side.
The name Jahi is believed to be derived from “Jahi,” one of the daevas (evil spiritual beings) in Zoroastrian tradition.
This reference emphasizes her demonic nature and ties her to a mythological background of corruption and wickedness, which contrasts humorously with the effect Dou has on her.
