Sena Moroboshi

Sena Moroboshi is a Japanese young man from Gunma Prefecture, and he places great importance on his identity and “Gunma pride.”

After rewriting record times on Mount Akagi, Mount Myogi, and Mount Haruna (commonly associated with Akina), he nicknamed himself the “Skywalker of the Three Mountains.”

Moroboshi is a graduate of the “Dream Project,” a driver development program promoted by the Takahashi brothers.

Because he was trained by people close to the series’ organizers, he was treated as a special case and kept out of the opening round as a competitive handicap.

A rule set by Ryosuke Takahashi barred him from racing until at least two MFG drivers beat Takahashi Keisuke’s demonstration-lap time in qualifying.

That condition was met in the second round, the Lake Ashi GT, by Beckenbauer and Sawatari, allowing Moroboshi to enter the championship from the third round.

He comes off rough around the edges, but his raw talent is widely implied to be exceptional.

His signature strength appears in close battles, where he quickly copies an opponent’s techniques and makes them his own.

He treats Katagiri in a friendly way, seeing him as someone who received the same “school” of instruction through their mentors.

Even when age is not a factor, he shows respect to Katagiri as a senior MFG driver.

Moroboshi’s main car is a DB22 Toyota GR Supra, initially in the SZ-R grade and later implied and then confirmed to be the RZ grade.

His body color is yellow, chosen as a tribute to Takahashi Keisuke by matching the yellow of Keisuke’s RX-7 (FD3S).

Car and Numbering Details

He drives an RZ car referred to as vehicle number 885.

The number “885” is privately mocked by Hiroya Okuyama as having “no sense at all” due to its wordplay-like selection.

License Plates (Fictional)

For the RZ in the game “Initial D THE ARCADE,” the plate is “Akagi 300 Ta 1-339,” while the anime uses “Akagi 331 Ta 4-006.”

For the SZ-R in the anime, the plate is “Akagi 300 Ta 1-339.”

From the fourth round onward, his Supra is fitted with a BLITZ AERO SPEED R-Concept widebody kit, though the story only notes that it “changed.”

Later dialogue mentioning a “3.0-liter inline-six turbo” indicates the switch to the GR Supra RZ grade.

In the anime (episode 30), a license-plate change confirms it is a different individual car and definitively the RZ grade.

This clarifies that the earlier SZ-R and the later RZ are separate vehicles rather than a single continuous build.
