Character Setting

Edit

Beanaccle, known as the "Strongest Nag in History," is a wild and unpredictable horse from Kyushu who took the racing world by storm. Starting out as a timid loser, he gradually turned into an overconfident show-off after a dramatic victory over Midori Makibaō. With his odd style, stubborn personality, and a knack for outlandish antics both on and off the track, Beanaccle’s adventures cross the boundaries of standard horse racing. His story spans from comeback wins, comic misfortunes, and global adventures to becoming an honorary leader in the animal world. Beanaccle’s unique blend of comic relief and hidden world-class talent makes him one of the most memorable figures in the series.

Beanaccle has a very unusual and memorable look. Over time, his appearance changes so much that he doesn't even look like a regular horse anymore. He is big and strong, with a body that can even outsize a lion. Because of his achievements, a statue of Beanaccle was built in his hometown of Kyushu. His style is wild and scruffy, making him stand out wherever he goes.

Beanaccle started as a shy and insecure horse, often feeling down after losing many races. But after beating Midori Makibaō, he became boastful and proud, quickly getting full of himself. He hates hard work but loves being the center of attention. Beanaccle rarely trains and doesn’t like listening to others, which frustrates the people around him, especially his jockeys. Even so, his wild actions and sense of humor make him a favorite among fans.

Beanaccle comes from Kyushu and is known as the "Bear of Hizen," named after a legendary warrior. He has an older brother, Thunderbolt, who appears in another series. Despite being called a nag, Beanaccle managed to achieve fame with his unexpected victories and wild adventures.

Beanaccle is famous for his incredible comeback sprints and long-distance escape runs. He can pull off amazing wins, even after falling far behind at the start of a race. Although he is not good in muddy conditions or when he gets hit with dirt from other runners, he surprises everyone when it's so muddy he can swim through the track! Beanaccle can also cover distances from short races to long classics, showing great endurance. When on the lead, he can keep ahead of the chasing pack with his powerful finishing speed.

His main jockey is Nobuo Eriguchi, who often complains about how tough and unpredictable Beanaccle is to ride. Most trainers and other jockeys avoid Beanaccle because of his lazy and defiant attitude.

  • Beanaccle's nickname, "Bear of Hizen," is inspired by Ryūzōji Takanobu, a legendary samurai.
  • Despite his unique look, Beanaccle has become a hero in Kyushu and even has a statue in his honor.
  • He once crossed the Indian Ocean by swimming, fighting off a swarm of cats that ended up following him as his minions.
  • He was briefly married to a woman named Esmeralda while in Mexico.
  • His older brother is Thunderbolt from "Monmonmon."
  • Beanaccle once tried to run in a race with a hand-written saddlecloth and was thrown out by the staff.
  • He became honorary president of the WWAA (World Wild Animal Association).

Rise from Loser to Champion

Beanaccle started out losing many races and was considered a hopeless case.

In the Aoba Sho, he shocked everyone with an 11-second last furlong, overtaking Midori Makibaō to win.

Setbacks and Comic Mishaps

In the Kyoto Shimbun Hai, Beanaccle threw off his jockey right after the start and bolted to the finish line alone.

During the Kikka Sho, he tried to kick the outside rail, failed, and brutally hit himself, ending his race early.

For the Arima Kinen, though injured and supposed to withdraw, he tried to sneak in with a fake saddlecloth but was kicked out by the crew.

Victories, Travel, and Unbelievable Feats

After a big win in the Kyoto Kimpai, Beanaccle joined Makibaō’s group for the Dubai race.

He missed the connecting flight in Singapore after going on a sightseeing tour, but then swam across the Indian Ocean to catch up, defeating attacking wild cats and turning them into his followers.

World Cup Trials

When Makibaō falls ill after eating a poisoned apple, Beanaccle enters WC Prelim 4.

He gets stuck in the gate because of his hair and has a slow start, but the track gets soaked with water, letting him swim through and claim an epic victory.

In WC Prelim 5, he goes for another wild escape run with Makibaō against the field.

International Animal Celebrity

After his global adventures, Beanaccle doesn’t return to normal racing but becomes an honorary president of the WWAA.

His commanding presence even dwarfs lions!

Though past his prime at the Japan Championship, Beanaccle races bravely against Blitz, Makibaō, and Jerusalem, finishing in a respectable fourth place.

Wherever he goes, he acts as a goodwill ambassador, making animal friends everywhere—turning even tough animals like "Nyanchu" into his followers.

Anime Edition Events

In the anime, Beanaccle hears about Trinidad, a legendary wild horse, and heads to America before Makibaō.

He is robbed on his first day and makes a living as a bus conductor until he is reunited with Makibaō’s group.

After briefly marrying Esmeralda in Mexico, he is left behind, sold to work in a Brazilian mine, but escapes with Makibaō’s help.

When he crashes the World Championship final looking for Esmeralda in the crowd, he is kicked in the groin, causing a hilarious delay.

Even at age five, Beanaccle continues to challenge in big races like the Arima Kinen.

  • Major Wins: Aoba Sho, Kyoto Kimpai
  • Nicknames: "Strongest Nag in History," "Bear of Hizen"
  • Beanaccle’s story combines wild action, comedy, and heart, making him unforgettable to anime fans and newcomers alike.
