Megakaryocyte is the largest hematopoietic cell in the bone marrow and is the precursor of Platelets. Platelets are formed by the cytoplasm that separates from Megakaryocyte, and Megakaryocyte itself does not become a Platelet.
This character, who first appears in episode 26, has the appearance of an adult woman and wears clothing similar to that of Platelets. Specifically, she wears a light blue shirt, a white jacket, a hat that bears the word "Megakaryocyte," white shorts, and long black boots. She is responsible for producing and educating Platelets, and is called “Master” (Shisho) by the Platelets.
In fact, her appearance was considered during the plot stage of episode 7, but was ultimately scrapped. Therefore, her first appearance in the main story was in episode 26, and her presence is also mentioned in the blood cell differentiation diagram found in Volume 2. In early rough sketches, she wore the same outfit as the Platelets, was the same size, and the style was form-fitting.
