Ryuu Zaou is a charismatic high school student and a main character in the anime "Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!" He is known for his pink semi-long hair swept back with a headband and his relaxed, rebellious look in his school uniform. On the surface, Ryuu seems like a playboy who is popular with girls, often claiming he loves girls, but the series never actually shows any female characters. Despite his carefree attitude, he sometimes reveals a pure and caring side, especially toward his friends. Ryuu is also a member of the Defense Club and transforms into the love warrior "Vesta," fighting with fire-based powers. He's best friends with Io Naruko, and the two share a close, if sometimes competitive, bond. Ryuu's story is full of action, comedy, and a bit of mystery about his true feelings.

Their relationship is funny: they don’t share hobbies, sometimes argue, but deeply respect each other.
Ryuu used to fight a lot with Io in the past, but now they’re close friends.
With Akoya Gero, another classmate who is also a good-looking boy, Ryuu gets competitive, and their meetings are always tense.

In the original novel, some girls do show up, but it's rare.
Ryuu likes snowboarding and cherries but cannot stand break-up talks or konjac.
