Kenichi YAMADA is shown as a middle-aged man with an average, unremarkable look.

His beard changes a bit between the book, manga, and anime, sometimes scruffier and sometimes cleaner.

Overall, he looks like an ordinary guy you might see walking down the street.

Kenichi used to live in a big city in Japan, but he got tired of city life.

He moved to the countryside of Hokkaido to work as an illustrator.

His quiet days ended when he was suddenly teleported to a strange forest in another world.

Kenichi is actually one of the few people saved from Earth just before it was destroyed by a meteor strike.

He was brought to this new world by an ancient elf playing a prank and as a way to make up for past trouble.

Kenichi received three amazing powers when he came to the new world:

• He can use a giant online shopping ability called “Shangri-La,” which lets him get anything from food to cars and heavy machinery.
• He has an “Item Box” that can store huge amounts of stuff, and time does not pass for the items inside.
• There is a “Trash Can” skill, letting him erase useless things inside the box.

Besides his powers, Kenichi can also drive heavy vehicles, do construction work, welding, set up solar panels, and even build log cabins.

Kenichi makes friends and forms close bonds with several female characters in the story.

At first, he cannot have children with them, but later, after a special adjustment to his body, he is able to have kids with women from the new world.

He cannot have children with women from Earth anymore.

There is only one other Earth survivor besides Kenichi, and he is also a man, so no Earth women are left for him on this new planet.

He later learns that the girls around him are actually a different kind of life, very unlike humans or beast people.

With elves, having children is only possible with special methods, and even then, the children are almost identical to their elven mothers.
