Furioso

Furioso has long chestnut hair tied back in a distinctive high bun that forms a large loop, almost like a glowing halo. She wears a blue bandana with white floral patterns, tied diagonally on her head.

Her right ear is adorned with a white earcover decorated with three small ornaments. Her sharp and calm face gives her a determined look.

Furioso often wears a special racing outfit inspired by her real-life jockey’s blue and red star-patterned silks. The outfit includes a white and blue theme, a corset-like belt, a blue scarf, and a belt with a red star. The back of her jacket features a big letter “F,” which stands for Funabashi.

Her casual outfit is a light blue denim shirt tucked into brown high-waisted pants, giving her a country style.

Furioso is very serious, sincere, and quiet. She rarely shows her feelings but has an intense love for Funabashi inside her.

She is determined and never gives up, especially when representing her hometown. She likes to share stories and interesting facts about Funabashi, even in serious conversations.

Furioso is a special exchange student sent from Funabashi Training Academy to the main Academy in Fuchu, Tokyo.

She lives alone in an apartment instead of staying in the dorms. This is unusual, as most other Umamusume live in the school dorms.

Furioso is based on the real racehorse Furioso, a strong and record-breaking dirt horse who never left Funabashi and fought bravely against the top Central horses.

Her love for Funabashi grew even stronger after an event where Funabashi lost badly to Central in the “Red Nightmare” race. Since then, her main goal has been “to defeat Central.”

She often sees the other Central Academy Umamusume as rivals and tries not to get too close, even though her classmates like Espoir City and Transcend take care of her.

Furioso is very skilled at guiding people around Funabashi. She even makes her own maps!

She is good at “escape” and “front-runner” racing styles. Her abilities shine brightest on dirt tracks (especially at regional racetracks like Funabashi, Oi, and Kawasaki).

Her speed and stamina are both high—she is excellent in dirt mile and middle-distance races, but not good on grass tracks.

She can sense the waves and sea breeze through her ears and feels happy when she hears them.

If she is about to become too friendly or lose focus, she hits her leg with her tail as a reminder.

She is not good with jellyfish and has a cute habit of baking pear tarts for her family's birthdays.

Furioso has strong ties to her family and her home city of Funabashi. She often talks about her hometown and is quick to share Funabashi specialties.

Her best friends at school are Espoir City and Transcend, who look after her despite her efforts to keep a distance.

She owns a pet crayfish named “Zariro” and loves collecting crayfish-related goods.

The Special Exchange Student

Furioso is from Funabashi Training Academy. She is invited by Director Yayoi Akikawa to transfer to the Central Academy. Because of her deep Funabashi pride and suspicion toward Central, she refuses at first.

Instead, they allow her to come as a “Special Exchange Student.” She is shocked by the difference in training facilities between Funabashi and Central but accepts the challenge to prove Funabashi’s strength.

Living alone outside the Central dormitory, she focuses on her goal: “Defeat Central.”

Story in the Game

Her story involves the events of 2011, when a huge disaster hit her hometown. The Funabashi racetrack was damaged by a big earthquake. She struggles but finds the courage to lead her city’s recovery by winning the Kashiwa Kinen race, earning her first big victory in her hometown after the disaster.

During her story, a new rival appears: Crimson Nova (based on real horse Vermilion). Espoir City and Transcend also support her.

She and her trainer, both coming from Funabashi, must take the Central trainer exam together. The trainer fails twice but finally passes on the third try, thanks to Furioso’s support.

Throughout the years, she grows more connected to her Central classmates. As she learns to trust and accept their kindness, she works even harder to bring honor to Funabashi.

Real Racehorse Furioso

The real Furioso was a tough chestnut colt, famous in Japanese local dirt racing. Always representing Funabashi, he fought Central’s best, breaking records and earning huge respect.

He became the first to win six big dirt races and set new records for prize money. Even after retiring, a race in Funabashi is named after him, the “Furioso Legend Cup.”
