He usually dresses simply, fitting his lower noble status.

In the anime, he mostly uses a single longsword for battles.

In the manga and books, he sometimes uses weapons he finds.

Noir Stardia is hardworking, honest, and very careful about what he does.

He is aware of his own cautious and timid nature.

He sometimes shows a sharp-tongued and slightly dark side, especially when speaking about his father.

Being pure-hearted and a bit clueless, he does not realize when girls show interest in him.

Despite being looked down on for his family background and appearance, he never gives up.

Noir Stardia is the third son of the lowest noble house.

He graduated from the school for nurturing young men called Jastal School.

He wanted to become a librarian, but a noble with a higher rank took his spot.

Left with few options, he set his sights on getting into the Hero Academy.

Noir discovers a Hidden Dungeon and meets Olivia Servant, who is a famous adventurer.

She teaches Noir her three main skills and supports his growth.

• Great Sage: This lets Noir learn anything about the world, even things not understood by others. However, it gives him a huge headache. Emma Brightness gives him a hint that kissing can help with the pain, and this helps Noir use it more safely.
• Swordsmanship C: Noir's basic sword skill, trained through steady work, not magic.

Skills from Olivia Servant

• Creation: Noir can make new skills in exchange for LP (Life Points), but if his LP hits zero, he dies.
• Bestowal: Skills Noir creates can be given to others, even against their will. This can be used to weaken enemies by giving them bad skills.
• Edit: Noir can edit the conditions of someone’s skill, like changing the cost for using skills from "life" to "money" instead.
• LP Conversion: He can gain LP by enjoying things like eating, shopping, or affection.

Created Skills

• Stone Bullet: His first creation, a useful earth magic attack where size and power grow with higher numbers.
• Appraisal Eye: Lets Noir see information about people and objects, useful for checking the effects of his new skills.
• Sacrifice: Lets Noir power up by giving up his own skills temporarily.
• Strong Slash: Created to help fight against curse-type enemies. In the novel, it was used to defeat Deathlock Curse.

Noir is close to many female characters, who develop feelings for him, but he remains unaware.

Emma Brightness is one of his closest friends and supporters.

Noir discovers the entrance to the Hidden Dungeon called the Infinite Labyrinth.

Inside, he meets Olivia Servant, a legendary adventurer, who is sealed inside.

She gives him her three major skills: Creation, Bestowal, and Edit, and teaches him how to use them.

Becoming a Rising Star

Noir uses his new powers to rank 3rd in the Hero Academy entrance exams.

He joins the Odin Guild as an adventurer, takes on jobs to earn money, and sells rare items found in the dungeon at his shop, Rare Shop Stardia.

Battles and Training

Noir is careful in fights, improving his and his friends’ skills by using his unique powers.

He sometimes uses the skill "Great Sage" to get important information, even though it causes bad headaches.

He steadily becomes stronger, gaining new skills and helping his friends.

Key Events in the Original Novel

In volume 5, he creates the "Strong Slash" skill and defeats the floor 15 boss Deathlock Curse, saving Olivia.

In volume 6, Noir formally becomes Olivia’s student and represents his class in a school match, winning against three students from a rival school.

Manga Changes

In the manga, the Deathlock Curse enemy becomes even smarter by copying Olivia's skills.

Many of Noir’s useful skills are edited to become worse, so he has to fight using only weak or inconvenient skills.

He loses almost all his major skills but grows closer to Olivia, and their teacher-student bond deepens.

The manga shows Noir growing up and continuing his journey with Olivia as teacher and student through the dungeon's deepest floors.

His name "Noir Stardia" may be inspired by the word "nostalgia," connecting to his mentor Olivia’s past.

Some differences exist between the anime, manga, and novel on which weapons he uses in battle.

Noir is sometimes mistaken for Olivia’s descendant because of his unique skills.

• Noir can only use the "Creation" skill to its full power if he has enough happiness or satisfaction, since using LP is risky.
• Some of the legendary skills require a huge amount of LP to create, such as immortality, which needs as much happiness as three lifetimes.
• The story shows Noir growing not only in power, but also as a person who cares for his family and friends.
