The Twelve-Body Demon God is a powerful and mysterious figure who failed to steal parts of Hyakkimaru’s body because of a unique protection. Hidden in the deepest part of the Demon God Hall, this demon god plays a key role in both giving and taking body parts among important characters. Its powers and presence shape dramatic moments near the end of the story.
Sealed at Birth
Unlike the other demon gods, the Twelve-Body Demon God could not take any part of Hyakkimaru’s body at his birth.
This was because Nuinokata had a holy statue that protected Hyakkimaru.
The demon god was then sealed inside the deepest room of the Demon God Hall.
Controlling Dark Winds
The Twelve-Body Demon God can control strong black winds to keep people out of the Demon God Hall.
Giving and Taking Body Parts
When other demons are defeated, it holds Hyakkimaru’s missing parts.
It then gives these body parts to people who have lost their own.
The Sealed Demon God
Biwamaru visits the Demon God Hall and notices that the Twelve-Body Demon God is the only one still sealed.
Later, Tahomaru and his friends try to enter, but the demon god uses the black wind to push them out.
Sharing Hyakkimaru's Body Parts
In episode 22, it is shown that the Twelve-Body Demon God holds some of Hyakkimaru’s missing parts.
It gives these important parts to Tahomaru, Mutsu, and Hyogo to replace the body parts they lost.
The Final Confrontation
In episode 24, Hyakkimaru is able to reclaim all his missing body parts, including his eyes.
The Twelve-Body Demon God shows up for a last battle.
However, Hyakkimaru successfully defeats and destroys it.
The Twelve-Body Demon God stays out of the story for most of the series but makes a big impact during the final episodes.
It is the only demon god who fails to steal from Hyakkimaru at the beginning.
