Natsuo Todoroki is the third child of the Todoroki family and the second son of Pro Hero Enji Todoroki, known as Endeavor, and Rei Todoroki.

While his siblings Toya, Fuyumi, and Shoto are all deeply entangled with hero society through Endeavor’s ambitions, Natsuo himself lives as an ordinary civilian without formal hero training.

Despite being the son of a top hero, Natsuo does not aspire to become a hero and never underwent the harsh training that shaped Toya and Shoto.

Instead, he pursues higher education, aiming for a career in medical and welfare-related work.

Natsuo is a tall, well-built young man with a sharp, handsome face.

Among the siblings, his physique and overall build most closely resemble his father’s, making him visually the most similar to Enji.

He has white hair and black eyes.

As a child he had a patch of red hair at his temples inherited from Enji, but by the time he grew up his hair turned entirely white like his mother’s.

His height, 181 cm, and sturdy frame gave him a noticeable presence even when he was young.

By the age of eight, he was already about as tall as his older siblings Toya and Fuyumi, who were more than five years older than him.

On the surface, Natsuo comes across as a relatively easygoing and friendly young man.

He acts bright and casual in front of his mother and sister, trying not to burden them further emotionally.

However, beneath that relaxed exterior he carries a deep sense of bitterness, guilt, and emotional conflict about his family.

He cannot forgive Enji Todoroki for tormenting his mother and siblings for the sake of his own ambition, and that resentment lingers strongly in him.

Natsuo describes his relationship with his father as lacking any real “family-like” memories.

He feels a kind of “stranger distance” toward Enji, and just as Enji averted his gaze from Natsuo, Natsuo has also deliberately avoided his father.

At the same time, Natsuo is painfully aware that Toya was cast aside by their father and Shoto was subjected to near-abusive training.

He feels guilty that, despite knowing about this, he did nothing to intervene or change anything.

Because his mother Rei and his sister Fuyumi wish for the family to somehow live together again, Natsuo is torn between their hopes and his own anger.

Caught between his resentment toward Enji and his affection for his family, he struggles to confront his father directly and honestly.

This internal conflict leads to moments where his usual casual demeanor falls away and his pent-up sense of powerlessness and frustration surfaces.

Like Fuyumi, he bears emotional scars from the Todoroki family’s dysfunctional dynamics that have not fully healed.

From a young age, Natsuo’s mother Rei was hospitalized, leaving the household without a central parental figure.

Because of this, Natsuo and his older sister Fuyumi shared household chores, and Natsuo became surprisingly good at cooking and domestic tasks.

During high school, Natsuo spent a period of time unsure about his future path.

At that point, Fuyumi told him that she would take care of the family matters and encouraged him to pursue what he truly wanted.

Her words became the catalyst that pushed Natsuo to choose university and aim for a career in medical and welfare work.

He then entered university and began living on his own, physically distancing himself from the Todoroki household.

After starting university, he moved out and rarely returned home, something Fuyumi often complains about in a half-joking, half-sincere way.

Away from home, he built a more ordinary young adult life for himself, including getting a girlfriend.

Despite enjoying aspects of student life and having a relationship, Natsuo never fully escaped the emotional weight of his family history.

His unresolved feelings toward Enji and his guilt toward Toya and Shoto continue to shape his decisions and reactions.

Rei Todoroki (Mother)

Natsuo deeply cares about his mother, Rei Todoroki, who was hospitalized for much of his childhood.

He tries to act cheerful and reassuring around her, knowing how much pain she has experienced because of Enji.

Her desire for the family to heal and reunite puts additional emotional pressure on Natsuo.

He wants her to be happy, yet his own inability to forgive Enji makes that wish difficult to fulfill.

Enji Todoroki (Endeavor, Father)

Enji Todoroki is a top hero, but to Natsuo he is more a source of pain than admiration.

Natsuo cannot forgive him for sacrificing their family’s happiness in pursuit of surpassing All Might.

He sees their relationship as something closer to that of two strangers who share a house rather than a father and son.

Over the years, he has consciously avoided meaningful contact with Enji and harbored resentment and disappointment.

Even so, Natsuo is not purely hostile.

He recognizes that his father’s obsession was never specifically directed at him, which adds a complicated nuance to his anger.

During the final war, Natsuo witnesses Enji desperately trying to fulfill his duty as both a hero and a father.

Seeing this, his perception of Enji shifts enough that, later, he can reluctantly admit:

“For the first time, I thought my dad looked cool.”

Toya Todoroki (Older Brother)

Toya Todoroki, who later becomes the villain Dabi, was the older brother Natsuo admired.

Toya’s descent and suffering leave Natsuo with heavy guilt and regret for not being able to help him.

Natsuo knew that Toya had been abandoned by Enji’s ambition and training regimen.

He feels ashamed that he turned away from Toya’s pain, much like the rest of the family did in their own ways.

After the climactic battle, Natsuo, along with his family, visits Toya in the intensive care unit at Central Hospital.

There, Natsuo speaks to Toya, exchanging their final words as brothers in a painfully honest moment.

Fuyumi Todoroki (Older Sister)

Fuyumi Todoroki is a major emotional support in Natsuo’s life.

They shared household responsibilities when their mother was hospitalized, and Fuyumi has often tried to keep the family from falling apart.

Her encouragement during his high school years directly influenced Natsuo’s decision to go to university.

However, her strong desire to restore the family also becomes a source of pressure for him, as it conflicts with his need to break away.

Like Fuyumi, Natsuo deeply loves his family but is heavily burdened by the family’s past.

They mirror each other in their mixture of hope, guilt, and unresolved hurt.

Shoto Todoroki (Younger Brother)

Shoto Todoroki, the youngest of the siblings, is the one who bore the brunt of Enji’s ambition in the form of harsh, almost abusive training.

Natsuo is aware of this and carries a sense of guilt for not doing more for his younger brother.

He cares about Shoto and is concerned for him, especially as Shoto confronts their father directly.

Natsuo’s guilt toward Shoto is one of the reasons he struggles to be honest about his anger toward Enji.

Girlfriend

Natsuo has a girlfriend during his university years and seems to be enjoying his life as a student with her.

Their relationship represents a normal, healthy future that stands in contrast to the chaos of his family.

After the events of the final war, Natsuo decides he wants to take a serious step with her.

He declares that he intends to register their marriage, not hold a ceremony, and not introduce her to the Todoroki family.

After the final battle of the series, the Todoroki family gathers at Central Hospital.

They visit Toya in the intensive care unit and share their last conversation with him while he is still alive.

Following this emotional encounter, Natsuo announces a major change in his life.

He decides to drop out of university, get a job, and legally marry his girlfriend.

In front of his family, he states that marriage and financial independence will mark his break from them.

He tells Enji directly that he will cut ties with the family and will no longer be involved with them.

He makes it clear that his feelings have not changed despite everything:

“I’m done. Sorry, but I’m not changing how I feel. I’m not going to stay involved.”

He adds that he will marry his girlfriend, will not hold a wedding ceremony, and will not introduce her to the family.

This is Natsuo’s own way of drawing a line and taking responsibility for how he chooses to live after everything Enji has done.

Even with this break, Natsuo acknowledges internally that his view of Enji has shifted slightly.

Watching Enji fight to the bitter end as both a Pro Hero and a father forced him to admit, however reluctantly:

“For the first time, I could think of my dad as cool.”

Natsuo’s Quirk is an ice-based ability, similar to that of his mother Rei and his sister Fuyumi.

He can generate and manipulate ice, fitting into the Todoroki family theme of fire and ice abilities.

However, unlike Shoto Todoroki, Natsuo never underwent systematic Quirk training.

Because he is a civilian and has not trained his power, his Quirk is believed to remain at a basic, unrefined output level.

He has not shown any heroic application of his Quirk and appears to lead life as a normal young man who simply happens to have a Quirk.

Compared to his siblings, his powers are downplayed, with his character focus resting more on emotional and familial conflict than combat ability.
