A male new recruit assigned to the Stohess District Military Police Brigade, who is a peer of Annie. He is characterized by his bob-style haircut with trimmed bangs and a shaved nape. He has high aspirations and a strong sense of justice, aiming for promotion with the goal of reforming the corrupt Military Police Brigade. Although he is earnest and overly fastidious, he also possesses the thoughtfulness and flexibility to bend his principles if necessary to achieve his goals. After his assignment, he is tasked with escorting Eren by a drunken superior who shirks responsibility, but during the mission, the Female Titan appears. He goes to investigate the situation with the new recruits in place of Nile but is turned back by the Survey Corps. Later, when dispatched to search for the Survey Corps, who had rebelled and fled against the government, he is captured by Levi and his group. However, he becomes convinced that justice lies with the Survey Corps and offers his cooperation to Levi. Jean acknowledges his cooperation due to his resemblance to Eren, and he becomes one of the key figures in the successful coup. Subsequently, he transfers to the Survey Corps, ignoring Hitch's persuasion. Sasha and others tease him for not understanding Hitch's feelings, leaving those around him exasperated by his obliviousness. After transferring to the Survey Corps, he participates in the operation to reclaim Wall Maria, charging at the Beast Titan alongside Erwin and the new recruits. Even after Erwin falls, he continues to rally those around him, but ultimately, he is killed in action when his head is blown off by a rock thrown by the Beast Titan. He often responded to Hitch's frivolous behavior with sarcasm and irony, but in his final moments, he imagines her still asleep at that time, suggesting that deep down, he had some affection for her. In the anime version, additional conversations and scenes with Annie are included.
