Sven's eldest son and Canute's brother. After Sven's death, he succeeded to the Danish throne. He maintained a good relationship with his younger brother Canute, who ruled over England, but in 1018, he fell ill and passed away. As he had no legitimate heirs, Denmark was succeeded by Canute. In the story, it is depicted as an assassination (poisoning) orchestrated by Canute to solidify the two kingdoms.
