A detective inspector at Scotland Yard and a subordinate of Lord Randall. A man brimming with a sense of justice and integrity. Informed by Randall about the existence of the Phantomhive family, he subsequently becomes frequently involved with them. While he disapproves of under-the-table rewards, he shares the goal of protecting London's peace with Randall and, unlike Randall, adopts a cooperative attitude towards Ciel. Ciel considers him righteous but not grand. In the "Blue Cult Arc," he accepts Bravat's confession and understands that Ciel is innocent, but due to his position, he orders Ciel's arrest. In the anime, he appears in the first season, and his character is mostly faithful to the original, though with slight differences in setting and a significantly different role in the story. He is an assistant inspector, a detective about to get married and expecting a child, but in episode 20, he takes a fatal blow from Lau's deadly blade while protecting Ciel and dies in Ciel's presence.
