A magician and fortune teller who created the Clow Cards. His father was British, and his mother was Chinese. By the start of the story, he has already passed away. He possessed immense magical power, enough to create entirely new magic, but he was known to have a mischievous and eccentric personality. Upon his death, he split his soul into two, and these two souls were reincarnated as the aforementioned two individuals (in the anime version, as Eriol alone).
