The sign of "!" that should not be seen. It was proof that there was a "strangeness" there. Sumireko Ogawa, a bookstore clerk in a certain town who aspires to be an author, is today, too, engaging in fruitless idle talk with her colleague, Ren Adashino. However, Ren had a secret unknown to Sumireko. The ghost stories, urban legends, and parts of modern strangeness that people talk about do exist. One day, triggered by the "reverse shoplifting books" that somehow increase in the bookstore, the two confront the mysterious incidents that occur one after another in the town. This is the story of an odd couple challenging the mysteries lurking in modern society, a tale of modest friendship and parting.
