The third phase examiner is a long-term prisoner serving a 199-year sentence for robbery and murder. He is a muscular, bald man with an old scar on his head. According to Killua's assessment, he is a former soldier or mercenary. Among the five long-term prisoners, he takes on a leadership role and also acts as the match facilitator. Although he desired a deathmatch, he won against Tonpa, who surrendered immediately after the match began (Killua assessed that if Tonpa hadn't surrendered, he would have had his throat crushed first, rendering him unable to declare surrender, and would have been slowly tortured until the remaining time ran out). Despite feeling unsatisfied, he was intimidated by Killua, who easily defeated Johness, and refused Killua's request for a fight.
