Yasaburo Hoshina

保科弥三郎 保科弥三郎（ほしな やさぶろう）

A samurai affiliated with the Suwa clan, residing in Kawanakajima, northern Shinano. He is a loyal and capable man, but quick to anger. In the spring of 1334, enraged by the tyranny of Kiyohara Shinano-no-kami, he raises an army, fully aware of the slim chances of victory, determined to uphold his samurai pride even if it means dying in battle. He views the Nōjaku Party, dispatched by Yorishige to stop the fight and retreat, as reinforcements to die alongside him. When Tokiyuki tries to persuade him, he draws his sword in anger, but is awakened to the meaning of living to fight another day. After successfully leading the retreat, he promises to support Tokiyuki and Yorishige. During the Nakasendai Rebellion, he avenges himself by defeating Kiyohara.
