Despite his small stature, he possesses incredible strength, capable of breaking thick tree trunks with his bare hands. His actions and speech are childlike, and he lacks knowledge about plants, to the point of accidentally killing all the garden's trees due to his clumsiness, making him an unlikely gardener. His background is that of a victim of human experimentation, labeled "Subject 012," and was picked up by Ciel a year before the story begins, given the name "Finnian" and the job of a gardener. The straw hat he always wears around his neck also serves to hide the code number "S-012" on his nape. Therefore, he feels a deep gratitude towards Ciel and, contrary to his usual demeanor, shows no mercy towards the enemies of the Phantomhive family. Among the three (Finnian, Mey-Rin, and Baldroy), he was the first to become a servant of the Phantomhive household.
