Having lost contact with his original world, he joins the Yakiri party along with Ryoko, who is from a different affiliation. He does not fully understand the terrifying nature of Yakiri's instant death ability and had thoughtlessly suggested actions like "Let's take Chika as a hostage," which Ryoko, already aware that such tactics were pointless, stopped him by saying, "If you want to die, die alone. Don't involve others."
