The protagonist of this work plays the 1st violin, is a freshman, born on January 1st, and resides in Matsudo City. He was taught by his father, a violinist named Ryuji (voiced by Ryutaro Okiayu, performed by Hilary Hahn), and achieved top results in various competitions from elementary to junior high school. However, he was shocked by his father's infidelity scandal, rejected everything related to his father, and stopped playing the violin. Since then, he has led a listless life. He wished to attend a public high school 'as far away as possible,’ and upon the recommendation of his homeroom teacher, Takeda-sensei, decided to go to Chiba Prefectural Umaku High School. While recovering from an injury in the nurse's office during a PE lesson, he met Ritsuko Akine practicing the violin, which inspired him to pick up the violin again after about a year. Upon entering Umaku High School with Akine, he joined the orchestra club and saw Nao Saeki, who was sweeping competitions in his place, reigniting his passion for music. Having learned the violin since childhood, his skills were high, though there was a bit of a shadow after a year’s break, but he is currently recovering. He’s not good at physical education and not particularly good at studying, but he passed the general entrance exam to Umaku High School by studying hard with the support of Akine, who accompanied him during basic violin practice in exchange. After his father 'divorced and left,' he has been living with his mother but, for some reason, hasn't changed his last name. He has completely reconciled with his sibling, Saeki, after a fight, recognizing that they are themselves regardless of their father. Henceforth, they have become rivals who encourage each other not to lose. He cut his hair for a fresh start after finishing the joint Christmas concert with the choir club and welcoming the New Year.
