Orihime's brother, 15 years older than her. He passed away three years ago. At the age of 18, he left his abusive parents (in the anime, he mentioned being abandoned by them) and lived with Orihime until he died in a traffic accident. Even after his death, he continued to watch over Orihime, but as he felt her drifting away from him, he turned into a Hollow, becoming Acidwire. Overwhelmed by loneliness, he attacked Orihime. In the end, he accepted Orihime's feelings and allowed himself to be struck by her Zanpakuto, passing on to the Soul Society.
