Kiyomi Azumabito is a diplomatic envoy from the nation of Hizuru, located in the East. She is the head of the influential Azumabito family and the owner of a conglomerate in her country. She resembles Mikasa's mother, who is of pure Eastern descent. During the festival's eve, she wore an outfit similar to a Japanese kimono and defended Udo, who had made a serving mistake, knowing he was an Eldian. Just before the festival began, she visited Willy's dressing room to commend him and then quickly left, escaping Eren's attack. In 852, she visited Paradis Island through Zeke's mediation and informed Mikasa that she is a descendant of the Hizuru nation's shogunate family, who were invited by the Eldian royal family to stay on Paradis Island about 100 years ago, and that the Azumabito family also descends from the shogunate family. While cooperative, her visit to the island was motivated by the prospect of enormous profits from resources like "iceburst stone" used in the vertical maneuvering equipment. After the Marleyan expedition operation in 854, she brought an airship to Paradis Island for observing the "rumbling." She had taken refuge in the port facilities during the coup on the island but was captured by the Yeagerists, including Floch, along with Hizuru's engineers after the "rumbling" was activated. After being rescued by Hange and others, she suggested going to the Marleyan coastal city of Odiha for airship maintenance, had the airship serviced in Odiha's hangar, and saw off the expedition team to defeat Eren. She shows respect to Mikasa, a descendant of the shogunate family, and offers protection without the Azumabito family's interests. In the epilogue, three years after the "Battle of Heaven and Earth," she welcomes Armin and others, who are heading to Paradis Island for peace negotiations, along with Historia.
