The head of the Merchant Guild and the leader of the Ottomar Company. He has white hair and light orange eyes. He has a forceful personality and, upon recognizing Myne’s business acumen, often tries to recruit her into the Ottomar Company alongside Freida. He has a dog-and-monkey relationship with Benno, and the prosperity of the Gilberta Company, especially after incorporating Myne, becomes a thorn in his side. Out of a sense of kindness, he offers unsolicited advice to Benno (such as introducing a new wife to Benno’s mother right after her husband’s death, suggesting marriage partners to Benno soon after he lost a lover, or proposing his older son as a marriage partner to Benno’s sisters), all of which have backfired, earning Benno's dislike. He dotes on his children and granddaughter Freida, securing a contract with a nobleman through connections to ensure that Freida, who has the “Devouring,” won't have trouble after reaching adulthood in the noble district by arranging for her to live a life befitting a noble. According to Myne, regarding Freida, he is just a doting grandfather who sees nothing but his granddaughter. After Myne becomes the lord's daughter, he, along with Benno and other merchants, finds himself being led around by Rozemyne.
