Delusional Monthly Magazine is an original TV anime produced by OLM Team Yoshioka, airing in Japan from January to March 2024.

The series is set in Most City, focusing on the editorial department of the magazine "Delusional Monthly Magazine."

Here, the team faces mysterious incidents that defy scientific explanation, blending science fantasy and wacky comedy.

The narrative follows the oddball editors—Tarō J. Suzuki and Jirō Tanaka—alongside their quirky colleagues and rivals,

as their everyday lives spiral into bizarre adventures linked to their mysterious world.

Delusional Monthly Magazine is an original anime not based on any existing manga or novel.

The series was brought to life by creator Ichigo Umaya.

The director and original character designer is Chizuru Miyawaki, giving the series its distinct quirky tone.

The show aired during the anime season starting in January 2024 and concluded in March, spanning twelve episodes.

The story unfolds in a city called Most City, located in an unnamed country that feels both familiar and oddly strange.

At the heart is the editorial office of "Delusional Monthly Magazine."

The city itself is quirky, with hidden secrets, unexplained scientific phenomena, and neighborhoods where the everyday can become extraordinary.

Within this world, companies like the White Pegasus Corporation and unique establishments such as the café "Rock" play crucial roles.

The editorial team of "Delusional Monthly Magazine" leads seemingly ordinary lives until a series of unexplainable incidents interrupts their routine.

Tarō J. Suzuki—our frail, overly dramatic, and secretly ambitious protagonist—dreams of a peaceful life as a househusband but gets pulled into adventure.

He is joined by Jirō Tanaka, a precocious 10-year-old with mysterious healing powers and a hidden royal past, and their dog companion Saburō.

The team investigates bizarre events, usually tumbling into chaos, with each issue themed around a new monthly misadventure.

Their boss, the enigmatic and sharp-witted Catherine Sue, is later revealed to have her own dark motives tied to revenge against the academic world that shunned her.

The White Pegasus Corporation opposes the editorial team, led by the cunning Edward Chi and his brilliant but mischievous underlings Noin and Perch.

Together, these characters unravel hidden conspiracies, face the supernatural, and confront the line between delusion and reality.

  • Delusional Monthly Magazine: The eccentric magazine at the story’s center, specializing in stories that blend science and wild imagination.

  • White Pegasus Corporation: The show's main antagonist company, aiming to thwart the editorial staff’s investigations.

The staff brought a unique flair by blending comedy, science fantasy, and satirical workplace drama, all reflected in the show’s energetic animation style.

The upbeat opening theme is "Overscientific!" performed by the main cast members—Takahide Ishii, Kazutomi Yamamoto, Yusuke Shirai, and Shunichi Toki.

The ending theme "SCIENCE" is sung by Shunichi Toki. Both songs embrace the show’s zany, curious spirit.

Delusional Monthly Magazine quickly gained attention for its outlandish sense of humor, playful character writing, and clever subversion of the usual science-fiction tropes.

Anime fans praised the whimsical mysteries, unexpected character backstories, and the surprising emotional layers beneath its comedic veneer.

Particular praise went to the chemistry of the main duo, Tarō and Jirō, and the way the show put new spins on episodic workplace comedies.
