The character is Kitagawa Mitsutoshi, who makes his first appearance in "Valvrave the Liberator 2nd Season." He is the father of Iori Kitagawa. Mitsutoshi was among the researchers from JIOR who were captured by Dorssia. He reunites with Iori when they return to the moon. In order to atone for his own sins, even if only partially, he discovered the technology called the "Ader Grip," which contributed to increasing the operating time of the Valvrave units by 2.4 times.
However, after this achievement, he disappeared together with the other researchers. During the broadcast in which Amadeus K. Dorssia made his public accusation, Mitsutoshi was shown aboard a space-use Phantom that had been captured by Haruto Tokishima and his allies. There, alongside the other researchers, he was subjected to forced RUNE extraction. As this happened, he whispered "I'm sorry," and lost his life.
