Kenmi is a male martial artist distinguished by his black shaved head and very small, dot-like eyes.

His look gives him a tough, fighter-like presence, fitting his background as a practitioner of martial arts.

His actions in the exam suggest he is physically capable and disciplined enough to survive through multiple stages.

However, he is not portrayed as particularly cunning, and his lack of success in the plate-stealing phase hints that strategy and tactics are not his strongest points.

Kenmi participates in the Hunter Exam as Examinee #362.

He manages to advance all the way to the Fourth Phase of the exam, showing that he is far from a weak candidate.

In the 1999 anime’s “Battleship Island” segment, he is seen working alongside Hanzo and Killua Zoldyck.

The three of them cooperate on the physically demanding task of loading artillery shells, which highlights Kenmi’s physical strength and endurance.

In the original storyline, Kenmi loses his Identification Plate (target badge) to either Amori or Umori during the Fourth Phase.

This causes him to fail the exam at that point, and his plate is later taken by Hanzo, changing hands once again.

In the 1999 anime adaptation, his elimination is depicted a bit differently.

There, Hanzo directly steals Kenmi’s plate, causing his failure, after which Kenmi is attacked by Tonpa, who is desperate to collect more plates to pass.

Kenmi does not give up after failing his first attempt and returns for the 288th Hunter Exam the following year.

During this 288th exam, Kenmi faces Killua Zoldyck.

Killua defeats him with ease, and Kenmi once again fails to obtain a Hunter License.

After Hanzo takes his plate, Tonpa, desperate to secure his own success, attacks Kenmi in an attempt to steal from a weakened opponent.
