The younger brother of Salamander Lord Mortimer and the commander of the Salamander unit.

He possesses the legendary weapon "Demon Sword Gram" and is said to be the strongest Salamander and the strongest player in ALO. He is a formidable opponent who can fight on equal terms with Kirito, a "SAO survivor." He clashes with Kirito in a fierce melee battle at the Lord's Council but is ultimately defeated when Kirito switches to dual-wielding.

After the incident in the old ALO, he deepens his friendship with Kirito and others, joining the large party to conquer the new "Aincrad" with his subordinates and being invited to Kirito and Asuna's house on the 22nd floor. Following a major update that introduced the SAO sword skill system, he independently developed an original sword skill with an 8-hit combo of finishing moves.
