Hiruko / Haine

The being referred to as "Mother" by the Shadows, she is the progenitor of the Shadows on Hitogashima. She appears as a girl wearing a kimono. As mentioned later, she has lost her right eye and conceals it with a bandage. She is the original owner of Shinpei's looping ability, but has lost the right eye that is the source of that power. To compensate for the lost power, she requires a large number of human sacrifices. In the final battle, she is betrayed by Shide and is obliterated by Shide's hand strike.
