She is a character who first appears in the prologue of the third volume of the original work, and is the younger sister of Mikage Sakurai. In the story, she is a first-year student who joins the Earth Sciences Club in her second year of the story together with Yuu Nanami, beginning with chapter 32 of volume 3 (episode 9 in the TV anime). She is knowledgeable about the occult, particularly interested in power stones and fortune-telling. Her special skill is geomancy (earth divination) using crystals. Mira Konohata calls her by the nickname "Chika." She keeps in touch with her older sister Mikage Sakurai and Mari Morino as Earth Sciences Club alumni.
In the TV anime, she first appears in episode 6, where she is seen watching over her sister at the first-year Hoshizaki High School culture festival. There is also a story setting where she participated in the 2017 Earth Science Olympiad preliminaries together with Mai Inose. Furthermore, she appears in the ending animation from episode 1 alongside Yuu Nanami.
She is 155 centimeters tall and was born on May 10 under the sign of Taurus.
