Yuuma Isogai

Attendance number 2. A male student characterized by his ahoge, he serves as the class representative of Class E along with Kataoka. He is a versatile honor student who plays a leading role in Class E, possessing exceptional courage and dynamic vision, ranking first among the boys in knife skills and second in shooting. He is a well-groomed male student, and aside from being poor, he has no flaws or unpleasant traits, earning him great trust from his classmates through his usual behavior. He often acts together with his childhood friend Maehara, who lives nearby and has been his friend since elementary school, both in public and private matters.

Since his father passed away in a traffic accident when he was in the first year of middle school, he has been living in a single-parent household. According to conversations with regular customers at his part-time job, his mother's health is not very strong. He also has younger siblings who resemble him. Due to being quite poor, he often surprises those around him with actions related to food, such as cooking goldfish caught at a summer festival for consumption or trying to get leftover bread from a bread-eating contest.

He was demoted to Class E for violating school rules by working part-time to help with household finances. He continues to work part-time, with the tacit approval of his classmates and Koro-sensei. He once faced the risk of expulsion when Gakushu and the Five Virtuosos witnessed him at work, but he secured their tacit approval by leading Class E to victory in the pole-toppling event at the sports festival.

In the midterm exams, he ranked second in the class after Karma, with a social studies rank of 14th in the grade. His interest in African poverty deepened after Koro-sensei took him to the actual location while he was researching it, resulting in him achieving first place in social studies in the grade during the first semester finals.

Due to economic reasons, he aimed to attend a public high school and successfully passed the entrance exam along with Kataoka and Takebayashi. Subsequently, he entered the University of Tokyo with saved part-time earnings and a scholarship, and after graduation, he joined a conglomerate-affiliated trading company.
