Tsurayuki Rokuonji

Tsurayuki first appears as one of Kyouya Hashiba’s contemporaries at Oonaka University of Arts.

In the original world that Kyouya left behind, he was already active by 2016 as the popular light novel author Kyoichi Kawagoe.

He gives off an unserious impression at first glance, but his ability becomes clear in screenwriting classes.

There, he shows unmistakable signs of exceptional talent.

Tsurayuki comes from a distinguished family in Kawagoe that runs multiple hospitals.

He was pressured to become a doctor, but he effectively severed ties with his family and left home to enroll at Oonaka University of Arts.

Because he had to pay his own tuition, he threw himself into part-time work.

The strain wore him down both physically and mentally, and his studies began to suffer.

Following a proposal from Kyouya Hashiba, Tsurayuki joined the residents of the share house in developing a doujin game.

However, during production he lost confidence in himself and began to doubt his own talent.

Eventually, he gave up on his creative future and left the university.

His withdrawal marked a major turning point in his life.

After leaving university, Tsurayuki returned to his hometown.

Even so, he could not fully abandon his passion for creating stories.

He has a habit of bringing a notebook with him when he goes to watch films.

That small detail reflects how deeply storytelling still lives in him.

When Nanako Kogure and Kyouya Hashiba visited him, he stubbornly refused to return to university.

In the end, however, he was won over by their determination and passion, and he re-enrolled.

After returning to school, he was unable to move back into Share House Kitayama because Minori Saikawa was already living there.

Instead, he rented an apartment near the university.

There, he began living together with Sayuri Jishouji, who had come in pursuit of him.

Their relationship became one of the most important parts of his later life.

Tsurayuki later submitted a manuscript to a publisher, and it won a newcomer’s prize.

This marked his first real step as a professional light novel writer.

After Minori Saikawa left the dormitory, he began using his old room again as a workspace.

He did so because he wanted an environment where he could focus completely on writing.

In the world of 2018, Tsurayuki is married to Sayuri Jishouji.

He works as an office employee at Rokuonkai Hospital while also handling articles for the hospital’s blog.

This version of his life shows a different path from pure creative work, but writing still remains part of what he does.

Even in a more grounded job, his talent for words continues to shape his role.
