Dahlia is the second Fairy King from The Seven Deadly Sins franchise, a physically imposing, battle-oriented fairy who once abandoned the Fairy Forest and later returned as a Supreme Deity–brainwashed antagonist in the movie The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light.
Dahlia is the direct predecessor of King (Harlequin) as Fairy King and rules as the second Fairy King.
In the original manga he is only mentioned by name, but he makes his full debut in the second theatrical film The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light.
He is a fairy of unusually large size and height, standing around 200 cm with a very muscular, burly build.
Unlike the more delicate appearance of most fairies, Dahlia proudly describes himself as a “brawler type” who specializes in hand-to-hand combat.
Long before King was born, Dahlia left the Fairy Forest, which is why King knows almost nothing about him personally.
He is stated to have been born at least 3,000 years ago and eventually disappeared from the front lines out of disgust for the Holy War.
By the time of Cursed by Light, Dahlia and Dubs have both fallen under the brainwashing of the Supreme Deity.
Influenced by her hatred of The Seven Deadly Sins for “tainting” the Holy War, Dahlia seeks revenge on them.
Dahlia is ultimately defeated by Meliodas in battle, which breaks the Supreme Deity’s control over him.
After he is freed from the brainwashing, his whereabouts and fate remain unknown.
His voice actor in the anime film is Yuichi Nakamura.
Dahlia’s most eye-catching trait is his massive, muscular physique, highly atypical for a fairy.
He emphasizes physical strength and close combat and refers to himself as a combat-focused Fairy King.
Despite being a member of the fairy race, who are usually associated with nature and subtle magic, Dahlia leans heavily into brute force.
This is reflected in his favored techniques, which pair his sacred treasure with hand-to-hand attacks.
His departure from the Fairy Forest is tied to his disillusionment with the Holy War.
He grew tired of the endless conflict, which led him to disappear and abandon his duties as Fairy King.
Under the Supreme Deity’s brainwashing, Dahlia’s resentment is weaponized into hatred toward The Seven Deadly Sins.
He fights viciously in this state, but once freed, he no longer shows the same fanatical hostility.
It is also mentioned that, like Gloxinia and King, Dahlia has a younger sister, and in his case, apparently many sisters.
This suggests he comes from a relatively large fairy family, though details about them are not yet revealed.
Magic: Disaster
Dahlia wields the magic power known as Disaster, the same Fairy King–specific magic used by the first Fairy King Gloxinia and the third Fairy King King (Harlequin).
Disaster is a unique power associated with the Fairy King, giving its user refined control over life, nature, and the “extremes” of phenomena.
Disaster can drastically amplify or “evolve” natural effects, such as turning a small wound into a fatal injury or rapidly enhancing the growth of plants.
While Dahlia’s individual applications of Disaster are not deeply detailed, his combat style and use of his spirit spear mirror the destructive potential seen with Gloxinia and King.
Spirit Spear Dallenhart
Dahlia’s sacred treasure is the Spirit Spear Dallenhart, a divine spear grown from the Fairy King’s Sacred Tree.
Like Gloxinia’s Spirit Spear Basquias and King’s Spirit Spear Chastiefol, Dallenhart has multiple distinct “forms” or “configurations,” each suited to different combat situations.
Below are the known forms of Dallenhart:
First Form: Spirit Spear (Dallenhart)
In its First Form, Dallenhart takes on the appearance of a conventional spear.
This is the basic, all-purpose combat configuration used for thrusting and slashing.
Second Form: Guardian
In its Second Form, Guardian, Dallenhart transforms into a small monkey-like creature that can sit on Dahlia’s shoulder.
Dahlia usually carries Dallenhart in this compact guardian form when not actively fighting.
For a long time, fans were unsure where this form fit within Dallenhart’s numbering of forms.
It was later clarified, in a Q&A related to Four Knights of the Apocalypse, that this small monkey is indeed the second form.
Third Form: Unknown
The Third Form of Dallenhart has not yet been revealed.
Details such as its appearance, abilities, and combat role remain unknown.
Fourth Form: Sunflower
The Fourth Form, Sunflower, manifests as a gigantic flower resembling those of the Sacred Tree in the Fairy Realm.
From its large petals, it fires extremely powerful beams of light, functioning like a massive magical artillery cannon.
This form is essentially the same Sunflower configuration employed by King with Chastiefol.
Its wide-area, high-power beams make it highly effective against multiple enemies or large targets.
Fifth Form: Increase
The Fifth Form, Increase, creates countless spear tip–shaped blades that float and can be directed at opponents.
These mass-produced spear points can attack from many angles at once, overwhelming defenses through sheer volume.
Again, this mirrors King’s Increase form, showing that Dallenhart has parallel capabilities to other Fairy Kings’ spirit spears.
The form excels at both offense and area control, allowing Dahlia to pressure multiple foes simultaneously.
Sixth Form: Unknown
The Sixth Form of Dallenhart has not been disclosed.
Its true nature and powers are currently a mystery within the series.
Seventh Form: Great Armor of the Sacred Tree (Yggdra Plate)
The Seventh Form, Great Armor of the Sacred Tree (Yggdra Plate), envelops Dahlia’s entire body in a massive, highly durable armor made from the Sacred Tree.
This form is designed specifically for close-quarters combat, turning Dahlia into a walking tank.
The armor boasts extraordinary defense, to the point that it can repel the combined technique “Piercing Spear Sphere Thrust” used by Zeldris and Gelda.
In this form, Dahlia can both withstand powerful blows and deliver devastating melee attacks.
Fairy Hammer (Killer Fairy)
Fairy Hammer (Killer Fairy) is a powerful kicking technique Dahlia uses while clad in the Great Armor of the Sacred Tree.
With his legs covered by the Sacred Tree’s ultra-tough plating, he coats his kicks in intense force, effectively turning them into battering rams.
In practice, Fairy Hammer is a straightforward but brutal attack: Dahlia charges in and strikes with his armored legs.
This technique reflects his self-professed “brawler” nature, blending fairy magic with pure physical aggression.
Dahlia’s main active role occurs in The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light.
There, he appears as a long-lost former Fairy King who had abandoned the Holy War, only to later be manipulated by the Supreme Deity.
Under the Supreme Deity’s brainwashing, he fully commits to annihilating The Seven Deadly Sins, whom he blames for defiling the Holy War.
He fights against the protagonists using his Spirit Spear Dallenhart and his powerful Fairy King techniques.
Meliodas defeats Dahlia in battle and, in doing so, breaks the Supreme Deity’s control over him.
Once released from the brainwashing, Dahlia’s hostility ceases, but the story does not follow him further.
After this, Dahlia’s subsequent activities and current location are left unexplained.
His unresolved fate, along with his many sisters and unrevealed spear forms, leaves room for future exploration in the broader franchise.
