Character Setting

Edit

Regulatory T Cell is an immune cell in "Cells at Work!" who stops T Cells from getting out of control. She is a calm and strict woman in a suit, usually working beside Helper T Cell like a secretary. Even though she usually acts like a government worker, she is powerful in battle, just like Killer T Cell. Regulatory T Cell went to the same thymus school as Helper T Cell and Killer T Cell. Sometimes, Cancer Cells take advantage of her strict side, tricking her into acting against her friends. Still, she is always trying to protect the cells of the body—even if she sometimes makes mistakes.

Regulatory T Cell is drawn as a strict-looking woman in a formal suit.

She rarely shows much emotion on her face and always keeps a neat, professional appearance.

She looks just like an office worker or secretary.

Regulatory T Cell is very calm and cool-headed.

She does not show her feelings much and rarely changes her expression.

She takes her job very seriously, sometimes being almost too strict.

She wants to protect all the cells and stop any trouble inside the body.

But, her strictness sometimes makes her easy to trick when someone wants to cause trouble.

At thymus school, Regulatory T Cell was classmates with Helper T Cell and Killer T Cell.

She had the potential to become either a Helper T Cell or Killer T Cell, but she chose to become a Regulatory T Cell instead.

She has watched Helper T Cell and Killer T Cell grow from when they were students.

Regulatory T Cell's main job is to stop T Cells from getting out of control and causing immune system problems.

She is usually found next to Helper T Cell, acting as an operator or assistant.

She is very strong in battle—her fighting skills are said to be as good as or even better than Killer T Cell.

Sometimes, she acts alone to protect the body's cells, using her own judgment and strength.

  • Helper T Cell: Classmate from thymus school. Regulatory T Cell often works closely with him, making important decisions together.
  • Killer T Cell: Another classmate. She knows him from their school days and still works with him to protect the body.
  • Cancer Cell Boss: She once mistook Cancer Cell Boss as a normal cell to protect, but this was because she wanted to guard all cells.

Introduction and Main Role

Regulatory T Cell appears from the very first episode.

She acts like a secretary to Helper T Cell, helping oversee the actions of T Cells and keeping them from losing control.

Her job is to watch, see if anyone is misbehaving, and step in when needed.

Mistaken by Cancer Cell Boss

Because she is very strict about her rules, Cancer Cell Boss uses this by tricking her.

Cancer Cell Boss manages to temporarily make her go against Killer T Cell, Neutrophil, and NK Cell by making her believe he is a normal cell to protect.

She faces her comrades in an intense standoff, all for what she thinks is the good of the body.

The Truth Revealed

When Killer T Cell uses his finishing move "Perforin Cannon Punch (PCP)," it hits Cancer Cell Boss.

Regulatory T Cell sees writing on Cancer Cell Boss's clothes.

Due to some dirt, she misreads the label as "foreign" instead of "cell."

Because of this mistake, she suddenly realizes Cancer Cell Boss is not someone she should protect and steps out of the way.

Final Battle

In season 2, episode 8 (the final episode), after realizing her mistake, she joins Killer T Cell and NK Cell in attacking Cancer Cell Boss.

This is an original anime scene not found in the manga.

  • Regulatory T Cell is one of several cells with the same name, but she is most recognized for her cool, suit-wearing look.
  • Even though she could have chosen to be a Helper or Killer T Cell, she decided to be the one who keeps everything balanced.
  • Sometimes, her strict nature means she can be fooled by others.
