Hikaki

Hikaki is a weapon-like tsukumogami whose true body is a fireplace poker.

In his humanoid form he appears as a tough, mohawk-wearing man, giving him a delinquent and menacing air.

He holds a longstanding grudge against the wedding furnishings of the Nagatsuki family, who are infamous among tsukumogami as “same-species hunters.”

Driven by this resentment, he organizes a direct attack to destroy the Nagatsuki household’s tsukumogami.

Hikaki is aggressive, vindictive, and openly hostile toward the Nagatsuki family’s tsukumogami.

He cannot tolerate the existence of Nagatsuki wedding furnishings, whom he sees as betrayers and hunters of their own kind.

Humans mean little to him at first, and his original goal does not involve killing people.

However, he is easily provoked and willing to change plans out of spite once he senses a way to hurt his enemies more deeply.

He has no hesitation about killing and treats murder as a form of amusement.

This cruel mindset ultimately enrages Hyoma Kunato and sets up Hikaki’s downfall.

Hikaki does not act alone; he rallies like-minded tsukumogami who share his hostility or are willing to follow his lead.

He positions himself as the leader of this small strike force.

His closest comrades in the raid are:

Scissors (Yattoko) – a tsukumogami born from a tool resembling tongs or pliers, used in cutting or gripping.

Twisted Paper Cord (Koyori) – voiced by Takasato Uchino, this tsukumogami originates from twisted paper cord.

Grappling Rope (Kaginawa) – voiced by Hayato Fujii, this tsukumogami takes the form of a rope with a hook, used for climbing or capturing.

These allies follow Hikaki in the assault on the Nagatsuki household.

They share his willingness to harm others and participate in his plan to exterminate the Nagatsuki tsukumogami.

Hikaki’s initial objective is very clear: destroy the tsukumogami belonging to the Nagatsuki family.

He considers Hyoma Kunato irrelevant at first, seeing him as outside his true target.

During the confrontation, Hikaki overhears conversations between Nagi and the others that reveal how much they care about Hyoma.

Realizing that Hyoma matters deeply to his enemies, Hikaki deliberately alters his plan to prioritize killing Hyoma as an act of spiteful harassment.

From that moment, Hyoma becomes his main target, not for strategic reasons, but purely to inflict emotional pain on those who protect him.

Hikaki’s lack of remorse and his view of killing as “play” push Hyoma into a rage.

Hyoma, angered by Hikaki’s cruelty and disregard for human life, fights back with full resolve.

In the end, Hyoma defeats Hikaki and his comrades, bringing their assault and murderous game to a decisive end.

As a tsukumogami born from a fireplace poker, Hikaki is associated with fire, heat, and striking force.

His combat style reflects his origin: direct, forceful, and destructive.

He favors open confrontation over subtlety, using his physical prowess and leadership to drive assaults.

With allies like Scissors, Twisted Paper Cord, and Grappling Rope, he coordinates multi-angle attacks designed to overwhelm household defenses.

Hikaki’s greatest “weapon,” however, is his ruthlessness.

His willingness to kill without hesitation makes him a dangerous foe until Hyoma Kunato finally stops him.
