The man who runs the business "Tenkaiya" is the fiancé of Mitsuba Okita, the elder sister of Sougo Okita. Outwardly, he appears polite and sincere, treating her with care. However, in reality, he is secretly involved in illicit dealings with Joui rebels. He seeks to establish ties with the Shinsengumi and considers Mitsuba solely as a means for financial gain.
One day, when Toushirou Hijikata barges into a secret meeting with the Joui rebels, the man's true nature is revealed as he orders his subordinates to attack. When the Shinsengumi arrive to help, he attempts to escape by taking Mitsuba Okita as a hostage. However, he is severely injured by the pursuing Toushirou Hijikata. Ultimately, while trying to escape in a vehicle with Sougo Okita pursuing, he is cut down in a single stroke by Sougo Okita, causing the car to explode and burn out.
It is said that his appearance resembles that of Saigo Takamori.
