Corkus is a key officer and one of the leaders commanding a thousand men in the Band of the Hawk.
He originally led a small group of around ten thieves, but everything changed when Griffith defeated him one day.
After that loss, Corkus and his group became part of the Band of the Hawk's ranks.
Corkus is known for his crafty and opportunistic nature.
He first encountered Guts before joining the Band of the Hawk and tried to rob him for money—only to fail miserably.
Harboring a grudge, he later tried to take his revenge by bullying Guts after he lost to Griffith, showing off his typical hyena-like mentality.
Ironically, this act played a role in Guts eventually becoming a member of the Band of the Hawk.
Corkus never let go of the resentment from losing two of his men during the failed ambush on Guts.
He constantly disliked Guts, picking fights with him over almost anything.
Even when others pointed out his behavior, Corkus refused to change, always acting with brutal honesty.
He was a realist who hated dreams and ideals, perhaps why he saw Griffith—who continually achieved the impossible—as someone special and on another level.
Corkus never truly accepted Guts trying to stand alongside Griffith.
However, he did acknowledge Guts as a fellow member of the Band of the Hawk, especially after Guts' victory over Boscogn—showing some degree of reluctant respect.
During the horrific event known as the Eclipse, Corkus met his end at the hands of a female apostle.
Interestingly, this same apostle appears in the very first chapter of Berserk and is later killed by Guts.
