Operation Neptune
During “Operation Neptune,” she joined forces with the 666th Tactical Machine Squadron.
Kirce openly despised the Soviet-allied East Germany from the outset, imposing her harsh international views on Theodor Eberbach and the others, which led to heated arguments.
Through fighting alongside the 666th Squadron during the operation, she came to realize that decent East Germans did exist and revised her perception, ultimately reconciling with them.
Return to the West
After the operation concluded, she returned to West Germany but continued to worry about the 666th Squadron.
During the revolution, she secretly entered East Germany as a special envoy to ascertain the rebel army’s stance and made contact with the unit.
Her grandfather was a heroic figure who served in the Air Force during World War II, shooting down over 200 enemy aircraft.
A decade ago, he even served on the NATO staff.
