Dog

Dog is characterized by his massive, almost unbelievably large frame, which is big enough for a human to ride on his back.

He is covered in thick, white fur.

His breed and origins remain a complete mystery. When he first appeared in the park, his appearance and demeanor were fearsome and aggressive, but after being defeated by Yoshiko, both his looks and personality softened into a gentler, more docile state.

Initially, Dog was wild and ferocious.

After Yoshiko tamed him, he became incredibly obedient and calm. He is now a loyal and gentle companion, though he remains a nameless pet simply because the thought of giving a pet a proper name never crossed Yoshiko’s mind.

Dog possesses physical capabilities that far surpass those of any ordinary canine.

He can outrun a motorcycle even while carrying Yoshiko on his back. His sheer tenacity and strength were demonstrated when he clung to the outside of an airplane for the entire duration of a flight to Okinawa, just to follow Yoshiko and her friends on their school trip.

Despite being unable to speak, Dog clearly understands human language and displays a remarkably high intelligence, with communication skills that vastly outshine Yoshiko’s own.

The Hanabatake Household

While Dog is completely loyal to Yoshiko, his place in the home is not entirely secure.

His massive appetite leads to astronomical food expenses, causing Yoshiko’s mother, Yoshie, to resent him deeply. To earn his keep, Dog and Yoshiko hunt wild boar and other game in the mountains.

Akuru Akutsu

Dog has formed a genuine friendship with Akuru Akutsu.

This bond was sparked when the two discovered they share the same taste in movies.

Sayaka Sumino's Dog

Dog is completely smitten with "Pome-chan" (CV: Shiori Izawa), the Pomeranian owned by Sayaka Sumino.

The Question of a Name

At one point, Akuru, feeling sympathy for his nameless state, attempted to bestow upon him the name "George." However, the plan fell into chaos and was ultimately foiled by Yoshiko's interference.
