Hachibei Takaya becomes an important member of the Otsuu Terakado Fan Club and usually acts as the second-in-command. He is loyal, has a bit of a short temper, but is mostly a caring friend. This led to a fight and Hachibei Takaya went his own way.
Time in the Biker Gang
Feeling alone, Hachibei Takaya joined a biker gang called "Bulldog."
He thought people were scared of him, but inside the gang, he was just a lower member, sent on errands and punished by the boss.
Reunion and Reconciliation
When the gang boss was about to punish Hachibei Takaya again, Shinpachi stepped in and helped him.
Shinpachi convinced him to leave the gang and they became friends again.
The Otsuu Terakado Fan Club
After leaving the gang, Shinpachi pushed Hachibei Takaya to join the Otsuu Terakado Fan Club, where he soon became an important member, even leading the club at times.
During the Shinsengumi Crisis Arc, he was picked to be on the team in a big contest between fan clubs, but he was knocked out by an enemy.
Anime Collaboration
In episode 227, due to sharing a voice actor with Bossun, the main character of SKET DANCE, Hachibei Takaya appeared as a life-size cutout during the collaboration event.
School Spinoff
In the story "Class 3-Z Teacher Ginpachi," he takes part in a popularity test for the Murata siblings.
Hachibei Takaya doesn't have any special fighting skills but is shown to have strong determination.
