Magojiro Shiba

Magojiro Shiba: General of the Ōshū region and steward of the Kantō region. Initially introduced as Magojiro Shiba. He hails from a prestigious branch of the Ashikaga family and is known as a prodigy. At the age of 15 in 1335, he is a young boy.

He excels in military strategy and is adept at guiding the eccentric Kantō retainers to create an overall battle plan. Despite losing many comrades during the Nakasendai Rebellion, he learns and grows from the experience. After the rebellion, he takes over the governance of the eastern provinces from Naoyoshi and skillfully manipulates the situation to outmaneuver Akiie Kitabatake with cold and cunning command. Foreseeing the split within the Ashikaga family due to the arrogance of the Tadayoshi faction, he schemes to maintain the Tadayoshi faction's power by winning over Yoshiakira.

In 1337, he defends Sugimoto Temple against the advancing forces of Akiie and Tokiyuki. Although he initially gains the upper hand with his intricate strategies, unexpected interference puts him at a disadvantage. He accepts Akiie's proposal for a one-on-one duel with Tokiyuki, revealing his true intentions as the "Avenger Demon" in the Southern and Northern Courts' game of tag, fighting for his fallen comrades. Ultimately, he is defeated by Tokiyuki and dies, expressing his happiness at having been born in an era where he could utilize his talents at a young age.
