Marianne was originally a shabby doll from the human world.

When she was thrown from a carriage in Turin, Friagne happened to see her and was struck by her beauty as if by thunder, falling in love at first sight.

After various events, she was remade into a highly advanced Rinne.

From that point on, she and Friagne are said to have come to love each other deeply.

Friagne treasured Marianne above all else.

He called her his “lovely Marianne” and treated her not merely as a servant, but as his lover.

His plan to unleash the City Devourer was driven by his desire to save her.

He needed an immense amount of Power of Existence to activate the Reincarnation Formula, a free-form spell designed to reconstruct Marianne into a being who could continue living in the human world without relying on the Power of Existence of others.

The Rinne serving Friagne’s group were all extraordinarily high-spec creations.

Because of Friagne’s superb skill and immense power as their maker, they far surpassed the ordinary Rinne created by other Crimson Denizens.

They possessed highly developed independent wills.

They were also capable of using Hougu, making them far more versatile and dangerous than standard examples of their kind.

Among them, Marianne stood out even further.

She had been infused with such a vast quantity of Power of Existence that ordinary Crimson Denizens were described as no real comparison to her.

Marianne’s origin as a discarded doll gives her a fragile, tragic charm.
