Suzuran

Suzuran is a legendary oiran of Yoshiwara. Her beauty was said to surpass that of celestial maidens, and because many feudal lords paid enormous sums of money for her, she came to be known as a "keisei"—a courtesan who could bring down a castle. Not only was she a master of the arts, but she was also used as an instrument of assassination under orders from the former shogun. Now elderly, she wishes to continue working in the parlor, even as she receives intravenous drips. Suzuran continued to wait in Yoshiwara for one man, Maizou Rotten, and in the end, she passed away in the promised place, with him by her side.
