Manfred Earthwold

The Third Prince. Makes a significant appearance in Volume 4.

A gentle and refined young man. Although his original faction is weak, he has garnered support from various quarters through his eloquence. He has particularly promised the expansion of autonomy for the provinces, but how much of that promise will be fulfilled remains uncertain (he is praised for his ability to make people dream).

He holds Wein in high regard, but after their discussion, he perceives him as a potential threat to the empire and considers assassinating him.
