Character Introduction

Edit
The heroine of this work. Like Pazu, she is alone in the world and lived in the remote valley of Gondoa, in the mountains where she tended to the fields and yaks left by her parents and grandmother. She was abducted by a special agency led by Muska, who was targeting Laputa, and while being transported on an airship, she was attacked by the Dola family. In an attempt to escape, she accidentally fell from the ship and was sheltered by Pazu, who saved her. She is 12 years old, with the novel version stating she is 12 or 13. She wears a necklace with a crystal of the levitation stone, a family heirloom. She is a descendant of the royal family that once reigned over the Laputa Empire as the Heavenly Emperor, and the last of the Toel family, the main family. Her inherited name (listed as her real name in sources like "Catalog 1") is "Lusheeta Toel Ur Laputa." In Laputian, "Ur" means "king" and "Toel" means "true," indicating that she is the true queen of Laputa (the preparatory draft of "THE ART OF" states that Toel means "legitimate heir"), and she is Princess Lusheeta. Her personality is gentle and kind-hearted, and when the robot soldier who tried to help her was destroyed, she cried on Pazu's chest. On the other hand, she also has a courageous and active side, as seen when she hit Muska from behind with a wine bottle to escape, defied Dola's restraint, stayed with Pazu on the watchtower in the storm, and during the confrontation scene with Muska at the end. Raised in the mountains, she has good eyesight like Pazu. She quickly adapts to new environments, easily fitting into life on the Tiger Moth and quickly adjusting to the modern conveniences she encounters for the first time. She is skilled in all household chores. After joining the Dola family, her cute appearance (as noted by Charles when searching for the girl "Sheeta" and calling her "a cute girl") makes her an idol-like figure among Dola's sons and henchmen, who even peek into the kitchen to see her, but she gets along well with them despite their childishness. Incidentally, the five who peeked into the kitchen when Dola showed her around were Charles, Louis, K, Ke, and Ko. Early in the story, when Pazu borrowed the levitation stone and failed to float, they laughed together, and she already liked Pazu. Her name comes from Sheeta (the Greek letter θ), the heroine of a puppet show Miyazaki wrote during his student days. In the planning stage, Sheeta was also the daughter of a pirate, and like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (wide manga version), the final scene was planned to have the robot soldier destroy Laputa at Sheeta's command. In the epilogue of the novel version, after the incident in Laputa, she returns to the valley of Gondoa and lives separately from Pazu, but they continue to communicate through letters. In a letter to Pazu, she writes about the birth of a yak calf. Her long hair, which was in two braided pigtails, was pulled twice and cut short by Muska's gunfire. However, in the novel's epilogue, six months have passed since the main story, and her hair has grown long enough to braid again.
