Renge Kasumi is a girl wandering in a ruined world with no memory of her past. She is very shy and gets so nervous around new people that she can sometimes faint. However, when she talks about cooking, especially using preserved foods, she becomes super excited and talkative. Renge owns a rare smartphone in a place where almost all electronics have been wiped out by dangerous monsters called Wild Hunts. She stands out for her strong fighting skills, using a powerful sword named Andvari. Strange things start to happen to her, like quick healing and mysterious memories, leading her to question who she really is. As the story unfolds, Renge discovers powerful secrets about herself and her connection to her friends and the world around her.

The original owner of Andvari was Nerine, who helped Renge when she was attacked by a Wild Hunt.
Nerine and Renge teamed up to look for Yuri Kawazu, but Nerine was killed by Balor.
With her dying wish, Nerine passed on her sword and her message for Yuri to Renge.
With Nerine’s wish, Andvari responded and became able to move on its own.
True Identity of the Andvari Wielders
Renge learns the shocking truth: girls who use Andvari are not normal humans.
They are copies, created to replace and then eventually eliminate real humans as helpers for the Wild Hunts.
However, the plan to replace humans was canceled, and the copies lived as normal humans, unaware of their origin.
They began fighting against the out-of-control Wild Hunts instead.
The real humans were kept in an underground facility, but were released when the project was canceled.
Renge’s Unique Nature
Renge, however, is not a copy.
She was originally a regular human.
But when she inherited Nerine’s Andvari, her body was changed so she could use it just like the copies.
That’s why her healing is so fast and why her Andvari is much stronger.
It was her copy that her sister Suzuran buried.
The underground facility’s AI warns Renge that because of the rough changes made to her body, every time she uses Andvari, she is closer to her limit.
The Final Battle and What Follows
Knowing her body’s limit, Renge chooses to push herself and use Tyrfing in her final fight against Balor.
Supported by the visions of Yuri Kawazu and Nerine, she defeats Balor but collapses from exhaustion.
After her death, Tyrfing continues to fight on, guided by Renge’s will, together with her friends.
In the epilogue, Erika Kōdaiji is shown using Tyrfing, while the shield Andvari “Mizgalz,” which she originally owned, is passed to another girl for protection.
