Eikichi

Eikichi is the successor to the Miharuya confectionery shop, which is located right next door to the north of Nagasakaya.

He has been childhood friends with Ichitarō for as long as they can remember.

Eikichi also has a younger sister named Haru.

He is a resourceful young man who is savvy and possesses a good understanding of how the world works.

Despite his shortcomings, he is incredibly earnest and enthusiastic about his work as a confectioner.

In stark contrast to his passion, Eikichi is exceptionally bad at making sweets.

His skills are particularly disastrous when it comes to making bean paste.

His lack of talent once got him into serious trouble, as he was falsely accused of murder after a customer died from eating one of his manju buns.

However, his persistent efforts eventually paid off, and he became capable of making some decent sweets, as long as they don't involve bean paste.
