Maybell Crane

Adopted daughter of the Crane Baron family. A student at the Imperial Rodnea Magic Academy. She has the skills to compete with Amyu, but struggles with academics. She is Kyle's sister and initially dyed her hair. "Maybell" is the name of a former hero, but it is her real name.

She participated in the Imperial Martial Arts Tournament as Amyu's substitute, "The Substitute Hero." The academy expected her to die in the tournament to deceive the demons, and the Lugrock Trading Company, who raised her, hoped she would be killed to make Kyle a perfect soldier. However, she intended to kill her suffering brother. She was defeated by Seika in the semifinals. After witnessing her brother's death, she returned her hair to its original color and became friends with Seika and others. She believed that no one needed her, but in reality, the headmaster hoped that Seika would save her, and the Crane Baron family cherished her as a daughter.

The academy and the Crane Baron family are always on guard for assassins from the Lugrock Trading Company, and during her stay at Seika's family home, she was able to relax without being on guard for the first time in a while, completely letting her guard down. When Zolmnem and others attacked the academy, her vigilance allowed her to not be deceived by Seika's crowd-dispersing technique, and she mistakenly fought Muderev, thinking he was an assassin from the trading company.
