When she uses her cursed sword, she changes into an outfit with a sarashi around her upper body, which is close to being bare.

Even though her kimono makes it hard to tell, she is said to be quite well-endowed.

Kasumi is calm, collected, and mature.

She acts as a level-headed player in her guild and is considered a “normal” member at first.

She is dedicated, reliable, and likes collecting Japanese antiques and items.

Kasumi sometimes gets embarrassed by her sword’s effects, like costume changes or getting turned into a child.

She really values her friends and is always willing to work together, even with new people.

Kasumi is a top player in the game and became known after ranking sixth in the very first event.

She has a great love for Japanese-styled things, which sometimes gets her into funny situations, like spending all her money in a Japanese-themed town.

The Cursed Sword "Devouring Blade: Purple"

Clones the sword and launches a flurry of attacks (up to 20 hits). Turns Kasumi into a child after use.

• Blood Sword

Makes her sword like a long, bloody whip. Uses over half her HP.

• Warrior’s Arm

Gives her a giant armored arm that deals fire damage. Temporarily lowers all her stats by 20%.

• Blade Mountain

Creates a circle of swords shooting out from the ground for wide attacks. Temporarily reduces her stats.

Puts a long-lasting debuff on an enemy, but permanently lowers Kasumi's stats.

Partner Monster: Haku

Haku is a white snake that Kasumi tamed.

Normally small enough to sit on her shoulder, but grows huge for battles.

Haku has poisonous fangs, can paralyze others, and makes heavy fog to hide Kasumi in battle.

Instead of learning many skills, Haku relies on strong stats and its big size.

• Kasumi meets Maple and Sally accidentally during the second event.
• She fights Sally, but the three end up in a secret dungeon together.
• They work as a team to escape, making Kasumi close friends with Maple and Sally.
• Later, she joins the Maple Tree (Kaede no Ki) guild.
• In the guild, Kasumi is known for being “normal,” even though her skills slowly become wild.

Kasumi’s love for Japanese antiques sometimes gets her into trouble, such as spending all her coins and going broke in the Japanese-styled city.

She is said to have a “standard” body type in the web novel, but later descriptions note that she actually does have a noticeable bust.

She is one of the few guild members who didn’t get random strong items from game events (as of volume 14 of the original novel, only she can use the Beginning Sword: Void).

Her job in the real world is also related to Japanese items, but this is not talked about much.

She is the slowest to get a big power-up out of all Maple Tree guild members.

Sixth Place in the First Event

Kasumi makes her first big mark by getting sixth place in the very first event of the game.

This shows how skilled she already is compared to most other players.

Encounter in the Second Event

During the second event, Kasumi appears as a swordswoman.

She runs into Maple and Sally and fights Sally.

Maple follows, and the three mistakenly get trapped in a secret dungeon.

Working Together in the Dungeon

Inside the dungeon, they are forced to work together to escape many traps.

Kasumi is surprised by Maple's and Sally’s unusual actions, but starts to enjoy teaming up with them.

Once they make it out, she becomes friends with both.

Joining Maple Tree Guild

After escaping, Kasumi officially joins Maple’s guild, Maple Tree (Kaede no Ki).

She becomes an important frontline attacker and helps with exploring new areas.

Power Up on the Fourth Floor

Kasumi finally gets her big power-up by finding the cursed sword “Devouring Blade: Purple.”

Now, she can use strong new skills, but her sword causes embarrassing side effects, like changing her clothes or making her younger for a while.

She tries not to use these skills in front of others, but the weapons are just too powerful to give up.

Japanese Shop Adventures

Kasumi loves Japanese-style items so much that, when the game adds a Japanese-themed fourth floor, she spends all her gold on antiques.

She ends up with no money but a happy heart.
